Educate. Innovate. Prosper.

The Technology Alliance’s Policy Matters conference - a unique opportunity to connect with cross-sector leaders across Washington state. This event is designed to foster collaboration, build bridges, and expand our collective knowledge, all with a focus on strengthening our state’s innovation economy.

This year we're breaking down the day into 3 core sessions:

People: The day will start by talking about the workforce needs of this latest industrial revolution, both technical needs as well as the new skills that will be needed by virtually every employed or school-aged person.

Power: We’ll move to the literal power needs. The goal is to help people understand why AI requires so much power, how utilities are planning to meet those needs with current and future power sources, and then how AI researchers are working to reduce the power needs.

Purpose: Ending the day by showcasing the truly remarkable advances in science, accessibility, and productivity that AI enables while not shying away from the ethical implications and safeguards that are needed.

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for speaker announcements on LinkedIn and via email—this is your chance to be at the forefront of the conversation!

We're excited for more Discovery Series!

On the second Friday of each month (except December), we'll be spotlighting the most cutting-edge and innovative research happening across the state.

Big Data in the Sky: How the Rubin Observatory will Change Astronomy

Located in northern Chile, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory will be the most ambitious survey telescope ever constructed, and is slated to begin operations in mid 2025. Over its 10 year Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) program, Rubin will map the entire visible sky, cataloging over 40 billion stars and galaxies. In the first months of operation, Rubin will double the number of asteroids and “minor bodies” tracked in our own Solar System. The University of Washington has been a founding partner of the Rubin Observatory project for nearly 20 years, and its DIRAC Institute hosts experts in both science and software development. This talk will cover the wide range of astrophysics we expect the Rubin/LSST to advance, and the prospect of revealing exciting but unknown mysteries that will drive the next decade of discovery.

mark your calendars—this is a journey of discovery!
